Breast reduction surgery is a surgical procedure performed under general or local anesthesia. Durıng the operation, some of the fat, connective, secretory tissues and skin tissues of the breast are surgically removed by methods such as liposuction. The removal of the tissues is usually performed under certain incisions made on the skin. The skin incisions are opened just below the breast tissue in a way that is not easily visible and allows it to heal cosmetically in order not to leave very obvious scars in the future. In addition, it may be necessary to make an incision around the nipple in order to give the appropriate shape and size to the breast tissue and to protect the existing nipple tissues. After the determind breast tissues are removed, the incisions are closed appropriately and the final shape of the breast is given. In some cases, the anatomical placement of the nipple may appear aesthetically poor in the final size of the breast, so the nipple tissue can be moved to the higher parts of the breast with the help of additional surgical procedures. It is aimed to give size and shape to both breasts after the surgery. However, there is a risk of developing an asymmetrical appearance after surgery due to the different healing process of surgical incision areas. This may require additional surgical interventions. There may be some shrinkage in the nipple tissue after the surgery. Although the surgical incisions made in the surgery become smaller, they do not disappear completely and heal by leaving some scars.
